Position: Birth Doula

Compensation: $20 - $25 per hour

The Role: As a Birth Doula at Happy Mama, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting mothers and their families through the journey of childbirth. Whether you’re new to doula work or have experience, we’ll provide comprehensive training to ensure you have all the tools you need to thrive. This role requires flexibility, resilience, and a deep passion for making a positive impact. 

What You’ll Do: 

• Provide emotional, physical, and educational support to expectant mothers before, during, and after childbirth. 
• Foster a calm, positive birthing environment tailored to each mother’s unique needs. 
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for mothers and babies. 
• Educate and guide families on prenatal, birth, and postpartum care, offering non-clinical support every step of the way. 
• Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate the unpredictability of childbirth, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

What We’re Looking For: 

• Empathy and patience: You have a natural ability to connect with others and hold space for their experiences. 
• Strong communication skills: You’re a great listener and can provide clear, compassionate guidance. 
• Reliability: You’re dependable and can be counted on to support clients during critical moments. 
• Physical endurance: You’re comfortable standing, walking, or supporting clients for extended periods. 
• Adaptability: You’re flexible with hours and ready to travel within your region as needed. 

Requirements: 

• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle. 
• Willingness to perform in-home visits, hospital visits, and virtual sessions as needed. 
• Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening. 
• Bilingual candidates or those fluent in English as a second language are encouraged to apply. 

Physical Demands: Being a doula is as physically engaging as it is emotionally rewarding. You’ll need the ability to: 

• Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. 
• Lift or move items up to 50 lbs (e.g., birthing supplies). 
• Assist clients in various birthing positions and settings.
